Hi, I'm Tara Lauzon (she/her)!

Hi, I’m Tara Lauzon (she/her), a Family Counsellor, proud Mother of four, and an avid lover of nature. Families face many pressures in today’s fast paced high tech society with over packed schedules and focus on achievement. More children are struggling with flooded emotions, and those with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorders experience difficulties navigating community systems that are often not built for them. I am confident that I can help children, youth, and their parents in honoring their uniqueness and strengths while developing lifelong strategies so that they can thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.

I aspire to help children, youth, and parents:

  • Strengthen the family unit by building HEALTHY ROUTINES and BOUNDARIES!

  • Create strong parent-child relationships filled with COMMUNICATION and COLLABORATION!

  • Develop lifelong strategies that promote CONFIDENCE, PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE, and SELF-RELIANCE!

  • Navigate the maze of services and supports available locally and provincially!

I am COMMITTED to helping children, youth, and parents develop lifelong skills needed to thrive in all their environments. By focusing on the unique strengths of children, youth, and parents, families can learn to share perspectives, communicate, and build relationships on a whole new level.  For families struggling with ASD and ID, these skills can mean the difference between living a full life at home and in the community and living in chaos.

Let me help your family navigate the storm and thrive in its uniqueness!
